"e-gold is to money what e-mail is to letters" J.P. May

------For all those who have yet to trade gold over the internet, E-gold is probably the service you want to use. Simply by going to the website, www.e-gold.com, and registering (no CC# needed). After you establish an account, the easy part is out of the way.
Now the hard part is putting money in your account. If you are going to be paying with a Money Order, i suggest the Tampa Exchange. Very convienent, they walk you through the process and can help with any questions you may have (although it's VERY simple to use). If you need to use a different site, I can't really help, although i did register at one other site, and didn't recieve my membership conformation (w/ the tampa exchange, you need not be a member) Once Tampa Exchange credits your account (took them 3 business days for me) you can go back to E-gold, click access your account, and viola. Now just get the account # of who you'd like to send gold to, and you are set! Quite an easy service once you actually look into it. (all of the steps took me a total of about 10 minutes)
*Also, remember the gold trading service you use takes a percentage of your money, keep this in mind.

------E-gold is simple to use, opening an account is very simple, then putting some credit on it may be more difficult (and costy). I'm using Goldnow (www.goldnow.st) I'm happy with their service and they don't charge too much. One of the nice surprise I had recently with egold is to see my available $ counterpart growing as the price of gold rises , just remember the gold market can go up AND down so this type of good surprise is just a matter of chance if you'r not in gold speculation. Now about the horror part... if there is ONE thing you should remember it's that egold NEVER send email with a link to their site. So NEVER click on any link to egold you may receive in a mail. The basic scam is working like that : you receive an email stating that a transaction is pending on your egold account, the email provide you with one or two links to confirm or cancel the transaction, the link look like http://www.e-gold.com.giberishgiberish.scam.org/anythingtheyfancy Looking at the URL you may think it's pointing to www.e-gold.com, but in fact it's going to scam.org (see URL format related RFC for more detail)... Now what if you click this link... You'll endup on a perfect copy of the web site of egold, you will kindly provide your account number and password, even the touring number is there, then you may be driven to any other page, but on the way you provided your account number and passphrase which is enought for a monkey to rip you of your egold. So don't get fooled, even if an email told you that you must confirm the credit of one million $ in egold DON'T FALL FOR IT...

------It may depend where you live. I sent no faxes or ID to goldex.net and telephone call was 3 minutes from a guy in Australia (and you can use a mobile number if you prefer). He asked my name and then we just talked about Australia. There is no tough quiz. He dont care what you want e-gold for. It is not so difficult.

------Here goes. I signed up for e-Gold using Goldex.net about 4 am Satuarday. 10 percent fee. No exchange fee. Credit Card. About 12 hours later I receive a verification email. They need atleast 3 email addresses to confirm by idenity. I send the third email address. About 1:30 am Sunday I receive a email saying by order is complete. The fee for this transaction was 10 dollars (10 percent). Within 24 hours the transaction is complete (first time customer). Not bad. Haven't used my e-gold yet but the transaction went well. Stay Tuned... Remember... Happy Customers = Lots of Money Unhappy Customers = Out of Business

------I've used egold a lot and their have been no phone calls no requests for photo ID's no problems. However I have read about someone sending emails posing as egold they may be attempting to steal your ID and your Gold. Read the warning they have on their site and be carefull.
